Today I took the kids to Stars and Stripes park at Lake Hefner.  Isaac and Miranda really like this park because of the big, new equipment, but I can remember the park from when I was a boy.  It had a twenty foot steel rocket ship that you climbed up into and a slide to take you to the bottom.  It was certainly not as safe as the blue plastic, but something you could fall off of and break a limb or two on the way down surely should hold a place in history.  The kids played and made friends while I sketched in my sketchbook.  We walked over to the shore and took turns throwing rocks into the water and watched the sail boats skirt around the lake.  We stopped for ice cream on the way home.
